  1. So, We're off to Germany for a few days.

Travel down to Folkstone last night for ferry form dove this morning.

205 miles ran, 33mpg, still have a third of a tank of fuel.

Premier Inn last night to save setting up camper and then early start for the port. Arrived, passport control and on to the ferry.

Sun was in my eyes and it was early[IMG]

  3. Pre trip prep/woes was,

Helicoil head for a loose exhaust stud, find exhaust manifold cracked in exact same place as @MR SAM HODSON. Weld it up and carry on.

Destroy a solar panel jacking van up in garage, order new solar panel and fit that

Fit a mains inverter(cos why not, and Mrs P likes to straighten her hair)

Get 2nd hand ECU and get it flashed for immobilizer etc(burnt a hole in a chip a few years ago.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

  7. Can you really run hair straighteners from an inverter? Asking for a friend, obviously.

Is the exhaust a problem due to no vibration damper fitted?

Yup, but you need at the bare minimum an 80ah LFP battery that can handle current spike up to 130amps

I've had Mrs Monkey's GHD travel hairdryer running through a Sterling 1600w pure sine wave inverter hooked to an 80 LFP battery.
Current draw got up to 140amps. Fortunately she's over and done in 15 minutes

Have a fab time. Are you going to floor it on the autobahn? Or do a Sabine Schmidt (RIP) type lap at the Nurburgring? :)

  16. Not really, the Y piece is pre made Chinese thing probably, with little to no filler at its welded joints, probably laser welded or something crap like that. I did put mine down rather heavy handed so it may have cracked then.

  17. I did floor it but only to 85 or so, I want this engine to get us back home again!!

Nurburgrumg is shut due to DTM racing being on I think, but we did nearly detour that way

  18. Up early for the ferry, nice smooth crossing and straight off and on the road at Dunkirk.

400 ish miles down today, Dunkirk to Kreuzwertheim. First Stelplatz 10 euros a night. Found on way down.

Couple of fuel stops and coffee stops.

Tried to do some arty photos
