For me i would rather spend the same money that they cost on a fully restored old bay and some hoildays but each to there own and i will still wave at them

  3. I don't see a problem with them as such, but I think that people that buy them thinking they will be a trouble-free entrance to the VW world are seriously deluded and need to have their misconceptions corrected. Brazilian bays are just as much hassle as older ones, and will be a labour of love for anyone that owns them - but in that way, I don't see the owners as any different to us. Even the watercooled ones. I don't have any problem with people that own them, I see them as on the same level. They aren't a cut above us, and we aren't superior to them. But then the superiority complex of some splitty owners irritates me.

  4. I met a very nice Danbury owner/partner and dog last summer just parked up on Margate seafront ,i was wizzing by screeched to a halt  turned round and went back for a look as he had a very unusual vinyl Harley scene on his bus which i was intrigued by.Long 2 1/2 hr chat latter we said our good buys after exchanging views so yeh bring em on . 8)

  5. i have nothing against them at all, they are true late bays. you cant get much later!!
i like their camping interiors and the modern feel, i dont like the plastic mirrors and dash
    pros and cons for both.
i have had a nose on their site and on prototype bay site, i have to say the proto boys are wannabe splttie drivers with their attitude to us and brassies
i prefer to see the wider vw scene whether you have a barndoor or a t5. if we all liked the same it would be a boring world to live in

  8. I don't have a problem with them, they are as late as a late bay can get, but they're not for me. Mainly cos I couldn't stand the idea of spending £25+ on one.

Anyway as far as I'm concerned, a VW camper's a VW camper, regardless of how old it is.

Anyone and everyone is welcomed here except those awful Subaru based pretend VW vans. We have nothing to offer them here. This is a local club for local dubbers.

  10. mmmmm,shiny danburys.....

I was in Danbury in Essex the other day and the old chap pointed out the old Danbury works where they churned out the proper named Danbury.

Having said that, we all like the same thing in the end so welcome Danbury owners, just dont come to close or i'll set the dags on you. ;D
