  1. hhi does any body know aprox what the cylinder pressures should be on a type 4 ,, 1.8 engine i am getting aprox 35 psi on all four cylinders ???? thank for your help

    Rob

  2. Should be around 130/140psi....

are you cranking the engine with the throttle wide open??

  3. yes warmed it up and throtle wide open somethink wrong then i think any ideas ??

  4. Well I'm guessing something must've been up for you to be doing a comp test ;)

so why were you doing the comp test??

  5. Guessing something wrong with the gauge, I cant believe it would run at 35 psi.

  6. The gauge is a possibility... I have seen some engines run, that you would think shouldn't!!

A mate of mine had a 1300 in his bug that you could easily turn over on the bottom pulley with one hand.... that car would easily do 80mph

What is the engine running like??

  7. found the problem i put 100psi from my compresor and got 25psi on the guage thank god for that so with the guage showing aprox 35psi the engine should be 140psi ish
    thanks for your replys Rob

  8.
