You need to be fast. A mate of mine about 4 years ago had half his main chassis rails replaced, I can't remember whether it was the front or rear half, but one end to under the cargo floor. £350 labour and comsumables. 70+ year old bloke and he apologised that it had taken 3 days, a bit longer than he expected. That was drive in/drive out. How did he do it?!!

The bus you started with would have cost many arms, legs and a kidney to restore properly though. I need a few weeks on mine to tidy up a repaint the bottom half...again.
Ditto for me! Horrible job doing the sills with axle stands only but I know exactly what Si is talking about... every time I get close to welding a new panel in I find another bit that needs to be fettled! A bit more done on the rear end all the lips had rotted out and the centre section cut it all out clean all rust off rust treated and painted inside and made a few bits up on my bending machine cane out nice Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oh dear It could well be similar. The hidden bits are a nightmare unknown...but in my case it must have had visible signs for years, and well before new bits were added. I don’t know how quickly these things fall apart from rust but I just don’t remember looking at that pillar on mine before. Perhaps I just blocked it from my memory. That'll be tricky. For me the easiest way to deal with rot from top to bottom like that was to refuse to work on them! Can you get a rear corner cut with all the inside stuff still attached?
