Had a few hours squeezing in air bags in the front think I can just pull it off used old shock and reinforced inside a bit managed to get the bottom tacked into place Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The air bags are rated at 1.2 tons and I have 4 1 on each corner so I’d say way over the limit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I remember seeing someones bus with the airbags mounted right in the back corner of the wheel arches up against the chassis rail with levers acting on the top torsion arms. I'll see if i can find the piccy. Looked an interesting install which kept the bags away from the wheels nicely.
What kind of idiot would have encouraged you to take up the noble art of metal fusion, assuring you that you'd be a natural IIRC. Mind your head. xx
Give me chance ..... yes along side off the og shock these are of my relocation mounts Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He he I never know but the heat rings tell me it’s good and the 6mm plate has penetrated through so I’d say that’s good Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The way it slides over the welds just hold it in place mate u can bolt these on if all the welds break can’t come off like big been selling these for years Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Had a few hours making a new top mount which will bolt to the beam with 3 bolts 1 will be the shock mount (so x2 more than air shocks ) allso had my son up with me home schooling teaching him a bit of welding I’m getting neater myself Not finished yet but can see the idea and a lot stronger that air shocks My 14 year old had a play allso Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hope that bracket is going to get some reinforcement. That looks like it will peel up and fold up under shock loading. If you whack it with a hammer - will it bend? If so reinforce it with some triangular fillets, the weld may also crack if it bends.
