Just had a look and you can buy the lite version for £69 but I’m not entirely certain what the difference is between the lite and none lite versions - says the lite version is low pressure - aren’t they all low pressure??

  2. Just hot soapy after is mainly fat that you can deglaze :D with a bit of hot soapy and bit like most stuff it burns off . Used it in the garden last week as not too much smoke cooked three different dishes and wok stir fry . Then pancakes fa pud .:)

  3. If you fill the moat with water before cooking, the fat goes into the water and you can just pour it away.

    Makes cleaning much easier

  4. Sounds very similar to the Camping Gaz one.

  5. The "high pressure" one runs off disposable canisters IIRC, so you will want the "low pressure" one for connection to an underslung tank.

Cadac Safari Chef!!! What the hell has happened to you people?!? Whatever happened to cremating chipolatas and chicken wings over petroleum infused lumpwood! I used to count some of you among my friends even! You are all dead to me now!!

  7. My missus is one of those types who keep traditional skills going and regularly attends charcoal making workshops and weekends. She usually goes to the Forest of Dean every year in the bus for a bank holiday burn but not this year. I'm very disappointed on her behalf at all this talk of gas machines. Nothing like a bit of traditional British charcoal for cremation of bangers on!

You can't beat a charcoal barbie for getting your own back on the obnoxious caravan parked next to you watching loud telly all night. With the wind in the right direction and a liberal application of lighting fluid, you can soon chase them out of their marquee sized awning!

  9. I also have a v small proper BBQ which packs away to nothing.

OK if there are no more than 2 people as it only fits a couple of burgers on at a time.

  10. The lite version just comes with less cooking 'plates'.

You don't get the flat hot plate. You get half flat, half griddle plate.

The Full version is 99.99 on eBay. Link in a sec

Flt plate on its own is £40 on ebay, im sure youd find cheaper

After endless messing with steel BBQs, I bought a stainless steel Cobb charcoal. Partly because it can be stuck on a table top. Or in a boat. Or in the garden right now

For some reason TLB is rotating it 90 degrees. Oh well.

  14. Mine doesn’t have a moat , if you filled the wind shield with water it would put flames out ? Mine is 7 odd years old so may be different ? I’ve never had a major prob with cleaning either . Trust me im a southern chef :D

  15. Mine is also old, but you can fill the windshield without it putting the flames out.

The water needs to be topped up if cooking for a long time.

Have a look next time you have your BBQ out

cheers Matt , just deliberating over doing this or not , we almost always have an awning up so would need a long pipe to wherever the bayonet goes so thinking about just having a gas cylinder and I can use it anywhere - that tap at nearly £50 might have made my mind up as well

  17. So it boils it off ? Na never done that ,you must be a steamer or do you have a sauna when you cook :D

  18. I needed a small BBQ whilst mooching about in forrin` parts and bought something similar at a french flea market about 2002 - BRILLIANT !!

It was only designated to the bin a couple of years ago when after about 15 years of use the bottom rotted out - a sad day , felt i got mi monies worth though ;)

  19. I'm a veggie, so of more use for meat lovers.

BBQ without lid on, fat goes into water, some water evaporates, after cooking pour water away, spend less time cleaning burnt on meat.

    I wouldn't fancy a meat sauna
