Driving habits are the first hurdle to overcome with lhd then its silly things like paying at a macdonalds drive through if your alone , parking barriers , security huts and lots of little inconveniences , but i imagine you get used to all that in time .

i never owned a lhd bus long enough to worry about it , i never liked it from the start and sold it within a month - it was a long time ago ( 30 years ) i prefer rhd in the uk tbh -- just my opinion .

  4. lhd are useful in France ,mc donalds and most of all toll roads...

A good vw garage can change your bus in a weekend from lhd to rhd..

  7. You get used to it very quickly. The one thing that bugged me at first was the camber on British roads...I always felt like I was sliding to the left of the seat. Oh and the missus screaming at me for driving in the middle of the road.

carmichael, you only pay 5% vat on an imported vehicle if you can prove its historic "worth" and that's easy with a vw camper, plus it's 5% of the purchase price *cough* if you get me... if you pay £10,000 for a bay from the u.s it's expensive...... mine parked on the drive with shipping from the owner in america to the port over the ocean and to my door with all taxes paid and uk plated and mot'd was £7,900 i've spent a fair bit since but knowing what i know now i could easy do it for less.
