    Hello :)

My van has been stripped completely (apart from swivel front seats) and I am looking to put in a new (or 2nd hand) interior - tho on a budget.
The van has just had a complete respray and is looking good. I am not sure if I want to go with a retro style or make it a bit more modern on the colour scheme and cupboard etc styles. I am not looking at chrome and glass but maybe a bit more modern than dark wood.

It is a pop top and I will be changing interior panels, flooring and roof lining also. I think I will stick with 3/4 bed tho looking at full width photos on here there are some lovely ones but I want to keep the swivel seats so need room in front f them.

    Any opinions welcome, thanks :)

ps - I am afraid to point out on this forum it is an air cooled T25 but dont let that put you off!

  2. I'd go with more modern and up to date but that's again a personal preference as I like Molly as she's all new and not been used or broken, some people will disagree but again everyone does their van how they want it, you must be leading in 1 direction with this? Just do whatever you feel you'd be able to afford and keep looking nice x

    Cheers Tiny-pie :)

yes, I think I am heading for more modern as its a complete refit. When we had the Bay I just made the existing interior a bit more modern by painting the interior and changing the seats material. Most of the van interiors I look at seem to be more original to the age of the vehicle so was wondering if modern may look a bit odd. We have got a T4 westie with a grey interior and altho its 16 yrs old i still think it is quite modern and clean tho not sure if the colour will suit a green van.

  4. I've had a full new modern interior and I love it, some people want to keep everything as original as possible which is also understandable but as my interior before was all botched together I chose modern as I knew it would last and as I'm not great with DIY was just the easiest option... Good luck with your decision but I bet whatever you do it will look great :) xxx

  5. I'd go for what ever makes it most usable to you :)

Has the colour been kept original? If so I would go original interior.

  7. Make it usable modern. At least its not a T4 which would require the obligatory pipe container on the roof..... :))

  8. You have a plain canvas as I did in my bay so get creative on it, there's nothing wrong with a T25 just get it usable and get out there & use it...

I've done mine on a bit of a shoe string as the original budget went on buying the van but I have a bed & all the camping gear I need from previously being a tent camper so I just chuck that in and away we go!

  9. Its a very late bay then!!! T 25s are shorter and wider and lend themselves very weell to swivels and the extra walk through width and shape mean you can have a dining area in the front ie table between drivers and passenger seat with seats facing each other.

All personal preference but depends on what roof you have too and how much storage as opposed to circulation space you want. Id go for something in keeping with its vintage tbh.

  10. If van is mainly stock, then original design with modern finish (check Scooper's Westy on here to see what I mean). If van is a bit more radical, then modern.

  16. Totally agree with Tiny Pie - Nick at VanWurks is a perfectionist and a really nice bloke. Best decision I made was going with him

  17. Anyone got any pictures of their vanwurks interiors they could send me?

  18. its your van - if you intend to keep it forever then do what you like. If you are likely to sell at some point then either a modern interior or restore the original type. Mine came with the wrong interior for the van and it stunk of mold black spot and wet dog! I ditched it sharpish. Made (still making) my own. The off-the shelf ones are fine and easy to assemble but for me I want to make my own to what I want not a compromise? Plus I prefer mine lightweight not MDF or Chipboard and plastic galore (but I am strange!) Good luck with whatever you deside. :)

  19. My van has a homemade interior that the last owner did, it works but not pretty. I would love to have the original devon stuff back in, but cost wise gonna have something I do myself in there instead
