Anyone used a clik adjust or other valve ajdustment tool? Am thinking of investing in one as its a regular job, and anything that makes a regular job quicker and easier must be good yes???

  2. when you do it often enough, you can do it almost bob on, on the noise the tappet makes on the end of the valve when you rock it....

but you can't beat a feeler gauge!!

  3. ^what Paul said.

I found the click adjust doesn't work particularly well on VW engines - it's more designed for working from the top, rather than lying on your side with a bunch of stuff in the way. I borrowed a mate's and gave up in the end.

The more you do it with feelers, the better you get.

  4. I used a click-adjust very effectively when my engine was out on my bench, but it's a pain trying to use it with the engine in place as Snotty said.

  5. As Snotty said.

Ive got one but it stays in the tool box now. Once youve done it with a spanner and feelers a bunch of times it becomes second nature.
