I donated and have no problem with it. I regard myself as lucky so don't mind charity at home or abroad.

I agree, went to a Children In Need tea party at my daughter's school yesterday, the kids had worked so hard making cakes n decorating the room....not sure how much of a concept of it all they had being 4 and 5 year olds.... but as she grows up we'll encourage her to think of other's who are less fortunate than us. No problem with "charity begins at home" either, Children In Need is a UK cause anyway. So yep, it begins at home but it doesn't have to end there. We're not rich, but we can afford to help a little. As for Wogan, and and the celeb fest, presumably the organisers reason is that its a worthwhile investment in the long run cos it gets more people interested and therefore, more donations in the kitty. All charities have administrative costs, so not all money can go directly to the final point of need.

  3. I don't normally watch these sort of programmes (too noisy and screamy for me), but I was at home by myself and had it on the the background, keeping an eye out for the piece on the charity I work for. It was good to see it, and made me feel proud to work for them.
