rearly what a waste of time ive just been out with a friend that does real charity work did u realise most charitys are just plc ltd company paying out less that 25 percent out that carnt be right theres loads of grants for charitys that juzt turn to take and not give back
Yep you have to be very careful who you give to nowdays. The worst are the doorstep bag collectors, read the bag some aren't even charities.
I stopped giving when I did a piece of work at a world wide Christian charity. I saw money, which I thought was completely wasted going down the drain. Now with kids myself my money goes on them.
Not to be completely negative but i get the feeling that Children in need is just a way for the BBC to plug there own programs. So far this evening Eastenders, Holby City, Midwives, Strictly Come Dancing, Dr Who....... Should I go on.
I lost respect for Terry Wogan's "Charity" work when I found out he got paid for Children in Need. I thought the point of things like this was that celebrities donated their time to encourage the public to donate their money.
Yep, they all are plc and I believe charity begins at home, However that Ellie Golding song just brought a tear to my eye, must tell the wife I don't want onions with my hot dog, man up god dam man up.
My father is exactly the same. I've not watched any of it. I've got friends on standby who watch it who'll let me know if anything goes down and someone's dies.
I see Children in Need as a big sales pitch and like most sales pitches I switch off. I decide to give what I want to, to who I like and when. I only ever give to charities that spend the money in the UK. There are plenty of worthy causes on my doorstep and charity should begin at home, or my local school who always seem to have a hand in my pocket!
