  1. I used to use mine when i had a landy and everyone was on it and then got the bay and only used it a couple of times in it :)

  2. All the bays in Oslo area got one,,very handy when we are going together to events

  3. I don't think they are as popular as they used to be but they would be great if you were driving in a convoy to a show for example

This is the only time I can see a use for them so we use walkie talkies when in convoy, easy and cheap

  5. Mmm...I was thinking of fitting my HF rig in the van, but the leisure battery is so far from where I'd fit the set I think the voltage drop would be an issue trying to run 100 Watts

  6. I'm thinking of moving my leisure battery into the van and putting my spare parts and a small tool kit where the leisure battery would go.

  7. The last time I heard a CB there was just somebody wanting us to be quiet.
    My mate, "One-nine a copy."
    "shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!";)

  8. Never owned a CB, can't see me ever getting one.

  9. Well there's no point in listening to the background noise, thats what squelch is for, but it really depends on the quality of the squelch.

I had one years ago... Pretty certain I've got a ariel amplifier or whatever there called, up in the loft, with using it I could get from north London to the south coast or from north London to south without it.

  11. o_O That was a joke, you know? Shhh, shhh, shhh. It's all so quiet, it's all so still....as Bjork said.

  12. I think CBers called them 'Burners', they were usually solid state amplifiers of perhaps 100 Watts, but wasted on AM or FM with vertically polarised and negative gain omnidirectional antennas, even when SWR Spray/Polish was applied, and despite the illuminated antenna tip looking cool at the time, it had a negative affect on antenna performance.

  13. Mmm...she was weird wasn't she...
