Can you identify the model of this t2?

I bought a t2 its supposed to be a 68 but i am not sure.
Can someone help with identifying the model?

 

Chassis number or a picture of M-plate (small silver/painted one behind the seat) would help

No fuel flap, but looks like an early

 

The fuel filler looks late, as does the steering wheel.

Im not sure what year vw starting painting over engine lid and tailgate locks either…

 

Looks a 71 crossover?

Hmmm, half moon vents, low lights, round rear lights but, as said, no fuel flap, and yes a later dash

I found the m plate

 

That's a bitsa, early column, late doors, early slider. Probably started life as a 68 ish but has been subject to "what's available repairs"

 

It also has wrong rear wheel nut spacing for that year. So thats at least 1970 onwards ...

 

AG is an Egypt code, make any sense, geographically?

 

Yes car was imported from Egypt.

 

I think it's Doka with a graft, too, but not certain it's an early.

 

Different VIN number
@Abdul has it got a vin number in the engine bay, or is it just on a plate ?
