I wouldnt risk it, aside of the possibility of Carbon Monoxide, what if a blanket falls into it during the night?

no, ok for when youre awake and ventilated but not to sleep in......steer clear if i was you mate.

  3. I wouldn't have used it whilst asleep anyway but thanks for confirming my fears.

    I'm Oooot

  4. Plus I leave it on 1 bar when I sleep sometimes.

  5. i have a blackcat heater - great for warming up the van but would never sleep with it on.

worth getting a monoxide alarm in the van just in case anyway

  7. i have one of these, no danger of CO poisoning as the gas bottle only lasts for a couple of hours. they do say not for use in tents but i use mine in my van, awning and fishing bivvy. i am still here, not poisoned or burnt to a crisp!

  12. I can confirm mine was not safe, I used it to warm my bathroom ( to tight to put on the heating) set it up ,all looking good, went to get a cuppa and a couple of minutes later the bloody thing had managed to catch light melting the dial on the side all the paint was burning off and the room was full of acrid smoke.Threw a towel over it and threw it outside then spent the rest of the day cleaning the bathroom. grrrrrrr.

  13. I wouldnt use one of these in enclosed areas, there are ventilation calculations for any flueless gas appliances. I guess these are used for fishhing where you sit in an open ended rain tent. When you burn gas with the right amont of oxygen, it produces water vapour and carbon dioxide. Put it in a van or tent the air gets used up, the heater then starts producing CO. Nasty stuff, no smell, no colour. Just go to sleep and never wake up!!!!!!!

  14. I've just bought a similar one from go outdoors was thinking of using it to warm the van up before I work an early shift in the frosty months. :supsbrew:

  15. I bought one and to be honest it was rubbish , would not recommend them

  16. I use mine to warm up the van a bit before bedtime or when ive just woken. As long as some ventilation and ur awake i dont see a prob

  17. I have something smilar from caravaning when I was a kid that runs off a gas bottle not these plug in cannisters. This weekend will be the first time I have tried it and as I have a Co detector Im gonna do a quick experiment with van shut up to see how quick the Co builds.

I would never use it during the night only to heat the van before bed and in the morning if it really needs it. :)

  18. i have some of them, great for warming the camper off before bed, deff not to leave on all night hahaha, do what i do, pop a hot water bottle in ya Sleeping bag to loooool
