Think there was a similar discussion at the end of the 1st lockdown...I went to several and all the toilet/shower facilities were open, with various methods of restricting numbers.
It's all down to these four check-boxes that need to be ticked though, isn't it? Vaccinations on target, no rise in the R number, evidence that vaccination is keeping people out of hospital, and no new variants that are resistant to our vaccine. ....That's the one, I reckon - realistically we have a bit of control over the first three, but mutations of the virus is really out of our hands. Apart from closing our boarders so if its a johnny foreigner type mutant it jolly well can't come in (and realistically we can't actually completely do that).... and who's to say it won't be a home grown mutation anyway? Oh well, I guess we just carry on as per, and wait.
My sister has booked a few days at a site at Rother Valley and she made booking over phone....I would like to think that if certain facilities weren't available, they would have mentioned.
We’ve pretty much booked up the school summer hols with weekends camping and 2 weeks in Cornwall- not bothering with trying to go to festivals as not sure if any will ho ahead if the organisers can’t insure. We have the vaccines, if we can’t crack on and live normally now then we are doomed with this half life existence.
Indeed. Vaccines and building a herd immunity is the only way out. A half-life isn't an option long term. There'll be rioting in the streets.
It’s looking like 17th on May before shared facilities can reopen - Caravan Club and Caravan & Camping Club websites are saying that announcements will be made soon about dates.
Looks like the 2nd week of the Easter break could be titled 'Holidays from Hell' with the amont of people expected to go crazy. I'll be avoiding the crowds still, I'll have enough of that at work, and at least work will have safety measures in place. Whitby/Sandsend/Lytham will be off the go to list for a while and probably gatherings in campsites. I'll be looking at smaller campsites and some quiet hideaways for the girls and me - though we will need somewhere a wheelchair can go for some of it
No problem , if that`s going to be the situation i`ll probably get a B&B for a few nights and forget about camping for a while - despite in the past being no stranger to a walk into the woods with a shovel i have certain standards ...
