  1. I need a digital camera for my teenage daughter.
Any recommendations as I know nothing, the only camera I ever use is on my phone.

  2. What kind are you after. Full blown DSLR. Bridge camera, its not a dlsr or compact but between the two with a fixed bigger lens, or a compact camera.
You can do a lot with a bridge camera and its a lot more cheaper than a full blown DLSR.

I bought the wife a samsung nx1000 last year one off the compact cameras with interchangeable lenses and its brilliant iIuse it more than my big camera now.

  3. That sounds good.
    Thanks

  4. I'm a big fan of the sony cybershot range of cameras!!

Nice size, and the current argos line are 16mp and are around £75!!

It will depend how serious she is about photography, a compact is handy (I keep one on my belt all the time) they're easy & simple to use. Bridge cameras are similar to the old style high end range finder camera with interchangeable lenses. DSLR you'll have a wide range from fully automatic use through to controlling every function, there are some good entry level cameras at reasonable prices through to the full frame professional models(with prices to match).
Personally I use a Canon MkII 5D with L Series lenses but it wouldn't be my choice for a beginner or youngster as it's an expensive camera & the lenses aren't cheap.

  6. I'm a fan of the Panasonic Lumix range. Their G5 is going at a reasonable price. My 13 year old daughter happily uses my G1, For a compact the TZ40 is good and I did use to have one of their bridge cameras.
I think all modern cameras take good photos that can be printed on A4 or displayed on a digital photo frame. All depends on intended subject and budget.

  7. She's a complete beginner but usually quite committed at anything she does.
Budget is up to £200 but I really don't know what she really needs.

Ive had a fuji finepix s5600 for about 6 years now and find its a great general every day camera, will be a newer model out by now.

    Edit
