  1. My daughter and her fella are looking to buy a t25 2.1 w/c fuel injection. Apart from the obvious rust do any of you guys know what major issues to look out for. They would luv a bay but budget is tight. Cheers

  3. Carlots tends to spray oil out the exhaust all over the back of the van on long journeys.

  4. Rust and leaking cylinder heads... The head bolts/studs run in the coolant, so are very susceptible to rotting out and snapping... especially when you have to do a head gasket on them!!

I've done a wasserboxer before, and they aren't the easiest of engines to do a recon on!!

  11. I had a similar problem, got told to take the oil breather pipe out of the air intake from the top of the carb and breath it into a bottle with holes in it filled with gauze. Seems to have cured it as I don't have oil in the airbox or all over the tailgate now! [IMG]

  14. Get an aircooled one with a CU engine code. Hydraulic lifters, fit electronic ignition and just change the oil every now & then fill it with petrol and bobs yer auntie.

Inspect seams and where the floor joins the body. 70 bhp, what more could you want?

  15. Or one with the 1.6/1.7 turbo diesel... pull the motor and swap it for the 1.9aaz

  16. I like my 1.9 would never dream of swapping it for anything else but the original engine....A lot of T25`s in France are 1.6 I enjoy passing them like they are stood still...:D

  17. A t25 is a fire truck. The correct title is a type 2, t3. Best engine is the jx 1.6 td according to brickwerks, internationally renowned vw t3 specialists. The oil spraying out the back as a fine mist is because of a slowly worsening turbo or so I was told. But, I will try sjhs tip. Or change mechanics!

  18. how far are you?

  19. Is yours petrol or Diesel? Make sure the bottle can handle the heat of the oil.

  20. Diesel. The fuel of fat cats. I remember when it was cheaper than petrol.
