Yes, makes no difference to me. Free tax and I'm not bothered if it rots.

  2. Tax free and garaged, but used whenever we get the chance.

  3. In the garage now it fits. Take it out for a good run every other week.

  4. Yeh just go out when i feel like it , or if i need to. Its only under carport so needs a run at least once a week, keep it taxed . Not worried about weather if it rusts it can be repaired or left lol. 8)

  5. Yes - but only because I need to replace the split boots on the front beam and what with re-vamping the kitchen and other things I forgot before the tax reminder came!

Will get round to it....sometime, if its not too cold

Last winter turned out to be better and dryer than the spring and early summer, remember the drought ;D we're tax free so just run it when the weather allows

  7. This will be our first winter and although she's not away yet, we plan to "winter" her later this month. Hopefully will give her a little spin once a week if possible! We have a cover and winter wheels from the PO so probably give that a go this year to see if we can be bothered year after year. But already looking forward to next spring!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're trying to camp in ours as many weekends as we can. Two weeks ago we pitched on the beach in Norfolk and last weekend we camped in the woods at sandringham. We're all 12 volts and now have a propex as well so we don't need no stinkin' campsites. Wild camping is the way to go and in the winter you get the places to yourselves as well.

  10. We do like a little bit of winter camping so we try to keep going.

  11. I admire all you winter campers but I prefer a log fire and an armchair when its freezng outside, which may sound a bit soft but I've reached that age. And I don't mean 40, young man. And I've never liked salt, it's not a friend to old vehicles.
Hower I don't ignore the van. It goes into storage for the whole of December, January and February. If they are still salting at the end of February I leave it there until they stop.
Where I store it I can work on it. Last year I took the engine out there. (I trailered it home to work on it in my garage)
This year it's getting a new master cylinder and new brake calipers, electronic ignition, an oil temperature gauge, repairs to the battery trays (no welding as that's one thing not allowed) and some work underneath cleaning and undersealing. It's easy work there too as i'ts dry light and has a nice flat floor to slide about on.
So I treat winter as a season to do repairs I'd rather not do outdoors.

  12. Molly will be playing out with me all winter...taxed til 31st Dec...so we will be put and about even with no heating...wrap up warm and hot water bottle stuffed in my coat and I'm laughing...hehe :S xxx

  13. I have sorned mine but only as tax ran out and I can then do work on it. If I kept it taxed then I would want to keep it roadworthy. This way I can start a job one day and leave it to bit,so if I can't get to work on it again for a few days or weeks I don't feel too bad

  14. Hibernation starts for Millie on Wednesday. She will be there until at least march.

  15. off road you say

Not off the road - gets used on dry days as a daily driver, as it is nicer to drive than my Peugeot 307..
Heater sort of works and I can wear gloves..
But the sun shine on the scratches and pits on the 38 year old windscreen is something awful to behold.

  18. Won't be camping over the winter, but lots of jobs to do. Might make some use of it when I get it back from the garage, inbetween fitting new seats, respraying dashboard, fitting fridge, etc etc etc.......

had my tax reminder today, £121 for 6 months £220 for the year.... i really want to use mine in december as mrs roo has now got all xmas off like i have (works in a boarding school and usually has to work over xmas) so we can go away over xmas if i tax it - now all i need is money.

  20. Mine is in the garage until the new year. Off on travels next week and away for Christmas. Will remove battery this weekend.

And before I start it will put in new leads, plugs, oil and check the timing.

Heater takes too long to warm up and it is just a weekend ride.
