  1. Hi @Baysearcher - what was the negative news on Cherished? I went with them in the end. Uk and Europe breakdown cover (yet to see the smallprint though), 2 people, comprehensive, £137

    Pete

  2. Just about to renew mine with Peter James. Less than £100 (possibly about 90, I cant recall.) Unlimited miles agreed value. Im not even going to bother looking around tbh! Me and the Mrs as driver and breakdown included.

@Sentry1, someone on here is going through a claim with them at the moment and it doesn't sound like Cherished are showering themselves in glory!

Hmm like the sound of them.

  5. Just to confirm - it was £99 (just paid it) SD+P me and the Mrs to drive Fully comp 150 XS, glass cover (10 repair xs and 75 replacement xs) agreed value at 12.5k (no comment). Im 53 and live in bandit country as you know.

Company is Peter James - they are in Brum, number is 0121 506 6040. Only claim ive made with them was for windscreen. even though I didn't use their repairer they paid out. (which basically meant I paid 150 and they gave me 75 back). Havent used their breakdown (Id ask them about that)

They priced me up at £148 which is good . In the past couple of years i have had an agreed value of 16000 anything over 15ooo the say you have to get it valued by a club , then sent to them in writing which is a bit of an anus .Prehaps just knock it down to 15000.

  9. Glad I stumbled over this thread.....Renewed my policy this morning with RH (been with them for ages and been happy with the price and service)....a very pricey £274!!!
Nothing out of the ordinary on the policy, and I turned 50 this year.
Rang them up with the intention of cancelling, at this point they 'checked their system' and said whoops we made a mistake.....instant reduction to £166 and refund on its way.
    Happy Days!

  10. :)I have just gone with cherished they beat rh ins by £20

I notice Cherished have moved office recently. I have always had good service from them, but this year they seem reluctant to give me a agreed value. I have sent pictures and asked for a assessment, but not had one in four months.

That is not good . There is no excuse for slacking on that , it's really important incase of burnout or smash right off .

  15. I sent them fresh pics a couple of weeks ago and then did a folow up call a few days later and they agreed the value, renewed the insurance and received paperwork a few days after that. Suggest you give them a call.

I have done all that.I would have popped in as they are my local insurance brokers, but they have moved to Worcester. I will give them a call though.

  18. I changed mine a few months back. Been with jk for a few years but the premium has been creeping up. Shopped around tried Peter James, Cherished and all the other usual suspects but the best I got was with Carole Nash. Which included break down cover as part of the package, agreed value, modifications and a scooby engine.

  19. seconded for peter james. i've been with them for years. i have claimed and they were lovely and smashing (nice brum lady calming me down on the phone), and i've also used the breakdown service MANY times (twice in the same day last year) and it was equally as fabulous. They use AA. this was the first year mine has gone up but i suspect that's because i moved.

  20. I've used Carole Nash for the last 2 years. Seem competitive and includes breakdown insurance
