Bus cover - rubbish

  1. I found my old JK cover leaked badly, didnt help that rain puddled in the poptop (even with foot balls under the cover) ....its a pity as I really liked the built in straps and zip openings for the doors :(

once mine had been re-sprayed, I got a storm force cover from flea bay ......I've had it on a year and it still hasnt let water in, there are no built in straps, but there are clips for an optional strap kit (I made my own to stop it blowing off again)

.....but the material isnt as strong as the JK cover, and stitching isnt as good. I've got a few rips and holes worn through, and one of the clip hoop stitching came off (Mrs Diddymen repaired it and the seam that had come unstitched along one side)

.....other than that, its not a bad cover.

If JK ever did a full 100% waterproof cover with the zip openings I'd buy it

  2. I use a JK cover with an upturned bucket to fill the poptop and then a tubular greenhouse heater inside to stop the condensation. You only have to have it on low and it just raises the temperature to a level where condensation doesn't happen. I just rig it up to the hook up on the bus. I've not had problems with rain getting in (despite living in Manchester) unless I've got the side flaps open to do some work.

My jk one i bought in 2006 gave up the ghost at the end of last year as the stitching rotted out on the door zips!...So...i bought a new one ,but they seem to be sprayed,or made of a different material this time, and its starting to come off where it folds...Hmmm...

  4. My breathable cover is on its 4 winter at seems to be lasting. The wheels have IKEA laundry bag (which are a snug fit) over them which keeps the rain/snow off them but still lets some air in at the bottom.

  6. That looks good for the money and better than a cover. Have you put it up yet and is it really "heavy duty", or does it blow away in the lightest of breezes?!

Not fitted up yet. Awaiting my move. It weighs a ton just in its box. I'm considering where to erect it and secure to to the ground. I'm probably going to use some straps to run underneath, secured down by the wheels.

Another member from TLB has one in Canada. He also seems happy with it.
