good luck bud ,hopefully its sumat simple , tell the misses at least your in blighty . Ferry will fit you in .
Guys you are all amazing and thanks for all the great replies and answers , gonna take Andy C's advice and get a good nights kip then tackle it head on tomorrow, new battery from motor factor as you've suggested after load testing. Thank you all so much, it's nice to know we're not alone- sweet dreams everyone x
All will be ok in the morning I did 1000 miles around France with a starter motor that wouldn't turn when even slightly warm! The missus is great at bump starting now (the pushing part anyway)
Bang on, it's the amperes that are needed. Fooked batteries can still show volts but pack no punch. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
just as aside if your going to dover to get ferry , the m20 has diversions aS its closed JUNCTIONS 1-4 SOUTH BOUND coz of that broken bridge being demolished JUST BE AWARE.take care
Turn the engine over with the starter with the wire "12v off" the coil ,see if it spins ok... try stopping on hills and the ferry guys are very helpfull they will want you to "get off their ship" at least you did'nt breakdown in france... where are you heading?
Oh. Possibly not the battery then. Mine does this, no idea why as it fixes itself, but if I've been on a run, stop engine then start immediately it barely turns. Wait literally 5 seconds and it whizzes round.
Started 1st time easily this morning so gonna get battery replaced on way to ferry & my good lady is gonna get lots of exercise this fortnight or learn to bump start Humfrey!! Thanks to all for all your help
Get the other one charged up if its holding a charge and keep as a spare , good luck . i thought it might start today Have a great time in france
