I read a fair bit but i find it a struggle to read books that are not written as if the author is the person in it - does that make sense? like an autobiography style, i don't know why it is, maybe one of you clever peeps know what i mean.
If you like science fiction John Wyndham really was one of the best authors.. his work only marred by badly made tv films of his work. I also think the entire Lord Of The Rings books still hold up.
I love the Brentford Trilogy books (8 of them?!) by Robert Rankin. I also find Jeremy Clarkson and Bill Bryson books a nice easy holiday read too. I'm currently reading 'I, Partridge: We Need To Talk About Alan' by Alan Partridge, not sure if you like him but i've never laughed so loud while reading a book )
anything by linwood barclay.....really good easy read thrillers. or any of c j sansom's - winter in madrid, or the shardlake books he wrote are a great mix of history and fiction
Darn, the SCared to Death book is not on kindle. Can't buy watermelons as although the book is on kindle, I see that the author writes for the telegraph which makes me immediately question his credibility.
Alot of the above are great IMO, Also David Gemmell writes fantastic fiction, the Troy Series the Drenai series or the Legend series. He past away a few years ago and his last book was finished by his wife, to complete the series.
just finished the distant land of my father by bo caldwell - lovely book if you are interested in china. Also this week read looking for alaska by john green because of my vlogbrothers challenge. bek
