The area below is a mess of patched up welding. I just hashed up the metal in the corner underneath the small hole, now covered in filler . It's not bad enough to need a new corner panel but I'm thinking of cutting out and replacing maybe a 3 inch square of metal. I think by using a thin disk I can cut out old metal, but those projecting angles will make it difficult to get in and grind the welds afterwards. Anybody got any advice here?
Got to exactly the same spot to do on mine, plus the inner part behind the outer panel too, and was pondering the problem of grinding down the welds, i wondered about grinding off the 2 lips adding 2 folds to the repair panel then making 2 new lips that overlapped the folds on the repair panel and then plug welding them back over the panel lips, and seaming them along the edge. I haven't done it yet and if there is a better way please let me know
I wouldn't want to file my finger I've had enough of burning it, hitting it , squashing it, without an electric file
