A lot of cars bodys are glued together now
I wonder if this technology could be used on our van, my first thought would be the rear wheel arch panel and body side repairs as welding often warps these panels

Maybe a jogged joint glued would be the answer not sure i would use it on a jacking point

  2. I'd imagine if you had the right stuff, it'd be fine. Didn't someone on here glue their sliding door panel on?

  3. I've got a very long scar glued together if thats any help....:D

  4. It's on my list of products to try... a tube comes in around £40... 3M makes some that is around £60 a tube, but then you need the applicator gun for it too, and that's not cheap either o_O

that's why no more nails is king - it goes hard unlike silicone.

  17. Ask @paradox about his defender

  18. Lol the time that someone spent making those glued on patches look so good it would have been quicker to weld them on

What about its strength in a crash?
I know our vans are as strong as a biscuit tin anyway, but surely, weld makes them a bit stronger..?

If you use the right Sikaflex product you have to air chisel it off, combine it with some countersunk rivets on a rear 1/2 panel for example and you'll have a lot less filling to do!
