I like the story of Terence Stamp, when he was researching the tranny & drag queen scene in Sydney, he left the hotel dressed as Bernadette. When the concierge asked him what he was doing the reply was "Research for a role", the concierge replied "We hear that a lot here Sir" Absolute classic! We used to know the "girls" who the drag show in Priscilla was based on, they used to do the show at The Imperial Hotel in Erskineville & we were regulars there. The production designer is a mate of mine.
