Black white plates

Legal is manufactured before 1/1/73

I changed mine because I thought the modern euro style looked better against the green. Think the lettering is still illegal thou so that's alright then >





Did you know that Westfields CCTV number plate recognition system can't read the B&W plates. So if you lose your ticket youre screwed :}

 

Mine is a 73 but built on the 9th so it's not regal for black and silver plates as I'm aware but you won't get pulled if it's an l reg I'm keeping mine on

 

I got pulled in a mk2 golf for them plates once but it was not legal at all as it was a g reg and the police said there scanner for the reg plates carnt read my plate ? As he brought up a pic of it and all my details !
So I said if i have a vehicle which is legal for these plates and it gets stolen and drives pass you , you won't be able to see if it's stolen ? To this he had no answer and told me to get out of his car with my 30 pound fine

I had black and white plates on my m reg until one day a police sherpa van followed me across the city .I got a producer and had to get an MOT station to verify the new reflective plates. I liked my black and whites, sob.

 

I got busted for black and white plates )

 

Thinking about it.... I've only ever been pulled over twice by the police..

Each time driving the van.. 1st for Wrong Plates, 2nd for Speeding(whilst towing the caravan) )

 

I suppose my time is to come. My 79 came with bw plates so I haven't got any spare reflectors to replace with, will have to at MOT time I guess.

Is it just a fine or are there points attached or can you go on an appreciation course to understand and love the new wonderful EU style reflective plates!!

Technically mine are illegal as well (green bus up there somewhere ^^) No makers mark and wrong font. hey ho...
