Young Ms C had one a drove like she was at a funeral so the insurance took it back off her. Must not have liked not making any money off it
My son had one for a couple of years to bring his insurance down. going in his car was like Driving Ms Daisy. Which I have to say pleased me no end. Great idea if you ask me. Should be compulsory for all under 25s I reckon, plus a limited bhp output and a complete ban on modifying.
Our daughter had one for the first 2 or 3 years as it made a big difference to her premiums. The company she was with rewarded getting good driving scores by cutting her monthly payments - a good incentive as she was paying for her own insurance but probably not so effective if it's being funded by the bank of mum and dad. Be aware that some have time restrictions on too which effectively invalidates the insurance if the car is used between say 12pm and 7am, not always an issue for some but no good for our daughter as she was doing her nurse training at the time and doing all sorts of odd hours.
Ride On Time .... great song My daughter had one for her first year, drove sensibly..without one she’s hasn’t stopped hitting things !!!
I’ve never had one... Although, I did get ‘speeding’ in my camper outsides Sainsbury’s, on the roundabout. Copper said I was doing 36mph! I told him it would turn over, if I tried that! (It’s only a mini roundabout). Still got a letter in the post, and did a speed awareness course thing just outside of Bristol up by some golf course somewhere. I must say, it was very good and has actually made me a better driver.
Kim had one for three years. The first one (first two years)had a good App that let her know on each journey how good her driving was (compared to speed limits, accelerating and braking) - think it was MoreThan insurance. Can't remember the third year, but she said the App was usueless - She said they hadn't removed the Black Box at the end of the year, I had a look and there wasn't one!!!! Lying Fecks!! Still, it meant her third year of insurance was only £800 (with two names drivers with clean records). Her car is Sorn at the moment as she isn't up to driving - hope she doesn't lose her NCD :-(
I went on a speed awareness course in Crawley, I looked right out of place everyone in the room was a wrong un
My daughter had one in her C2 ... electrics went strange not long after ... could have been the car, but ...
Obviously some limiter for Horsepower. I’m sure I could Google it. But what is it exactly I’ve never heard of it before. ? Of course I’m not British . . Someone can answer. Maybe others might be interested in knowing exactly what it is as well.
On serious basis if you do something wrong like drive after the allowed time at night you get a yellow card if you do it again you get a red card and insurance is cancelled. Then you payed even more for insurance. In other words kids get a bad deal.

The youngsters are charged an awful lot of money to insure their cars in this country so they get a cheaper deal if they have a tracker box fitted, but it comes with consequences
@Poptop2 Classics car's are cheap to insurance for Kids to drive! They could drive your motorhome for a year?
I've done three speed awareness courses ...read into that what you will (I think I just like doing them!)
