  1. Do you make a point of watching black and white films or do you never watch them.

  2. Hmm, some are great. The 39 steps with Robert Donat and The ghost and Mrs Muir for example.

Colour alone can’t make a bad film good.

Weekend morning viewing is quite often TalkingPictures TV - Freeview channel 81. Some great stuff on there (and some quite cringeworthy stuff too!)

Being black and white would not put me off watching. When I was a kid we only had a black and white telly anyway so my dad could save up for a Morgan.

I recorded citizen Kane the other day to watch at my leisure .

Its the coloured adverts that spoil a film in my opinion

  11. I've got a big ol' pile of HP5 & Tri-X, but I barely give it a second glance these days.

  12. I remember them describing for those with black and white TVs the position of one coloured ball in relation to the position of another coloured ball on Pot black one time. Unintentionally very funny.

Marx brothers films just wouldn't work in colour.

Used to love the Will Haye films, when I was younger.
Elephant Man is a great film. Fairly modern, but made to look older.

Ice cold in Alex , The Dambusters , Tobruk , Dunkirk , Sink the Bismark etc etc . I was brought up on `em !

All brilliant yet very poigniant , made in the days when a film title told you exactly what you were getting
