  1. What was the thread title?..tried. A search before posting but couldn't see any strong threads.

  2. Looks really good - though I guess there are no wee buggers with pointy things round your way?. We're up a long lane so might be ok but have also seen a carpod? Sort of big tent with mech fan...anyone any experience of those?

  3. Car port wins as it keeps the rain off but allows a breeze to blow through

  8. Used the JK one since I bought the van (8 years plus) and it was sold as waterproof but it ain't.
Currently use a tarp underneath it, but once it gets a respray, then will look for an alternative ;)

They must have sold 2 at about the same time then? How much was yours? Mine was about £99 and the advert claimed they were shower proof but not water proof.
If I'd noticed at the time I'd have bought the waterproof one and then no doubt complained when it didn't work.

  10. Cheers folks - very informative. Looks like the piggy bank will be raided for the best I can afford. Amazing how much you are still spending when you think you're nearly finished!! so might be a few heavy duty binbags taped together (nervous lol).

  11. I don't think I'll bother, the only time my motors get a wash is when it rains...

  12. I've been debating whether to get another cover. I had one once for my old van, not jk but similar (can't remember make) cost £125. Trouble was where I live is a damp area and so prone to rising condensation in cold weather conditions. The cover I had for my old van trapped that condensation as it stuck to the vehicle before any breeze had a chance to dry it off. As such I believe it accelerated rust development that year as effectively the van was permanently wet. I thought if I get one now it wld have to be a high quality one like the Hamilton. It still worries me that it could still trap condensation so I am not going to get one just yet. Instead I am parking so that both sides of the van get a good airing and I can go round it with a chamois after heavy rain or condensation. This also means I can more easily monitor any rust onset. And can easily take it out on a run on dry days (remember them?). What I'm saying is, anyone thinking if buying one needs to consider the likelyhood of condensation being trapped, especially if you live in a damp area.

  13. Build a car port, it's proven that it's the best way to prevent rust.

  14. jk getting water proof ones in stock middle of the month....
