If you're using it in the awning could you not out it on top of a table or something out of reach of the wee one? As @Barneyrubble said, halogen was awesome last year when we used it my awning. A big space and a few people in there it did the trick nicely. It does light up so if you were us in it throughout the night it may be a little bright. I used fan heaters, they weren't as good and noisy. The way to go is oil radiator within the van should be fine but I don't know how it'd be in the awning? And then you've got the issue of the wee one potentially touching it again. Depends on when you want to use it, evenings whilst you're in the awning chilling or for overnight when you're sleeping? Hopefully that kind of made sense, I'm in the same predicament tbh, I now have one of each haha!!
Andy We've got an oil heater. Keep it on the lowest setting and it's fine. Borrow mine and see what you think- I don't need it at Easter.
Thanks Lardy Im so temped Buying a halogen, hanging it from the centre rail of the awning I got a cheap air blowing one after taking advice
Lord congi had a halogen heater in his bus at tecenders in 2014 when I got back home the misses said you have a suntan on the right side of your face! Tricky Dave's fault! he made me, sick boy, Physio pro, Physio pros dog drink whiskey! So blooming hangover and a suntan!
Only an el cheapo 2kw fan heater , does the job heat wise but the constant clicking on and off with the stat drives me mad
We have a fan blowy type & before climbing into bed we blast it on full heat until we're about to pass out then switch it off! In the morning I can flick the switch with my toe & we lie in bed until toasty warm & then get up Having to step out for a wee in the early hours is not as good tho & we don't have a sink in the van
