The Westfalia Milton Keynes didn't quite take off either funnily enough. Very good at roundabouts though I hear...

  2. Can I ask what is probably a dumb question but here goes........what the best way of getting to the fridge gubbins to check it out. Have both the truma heater and a three way fridge to sort out and need some help. Keen to learn......

  3. Assuming you mean the standard Westy fridge then all the gas and electrical gubbins can be accessed from the lift up lid next to it. It may have a wooden shelf in there but this just lifts out, it just sits on a metal U bracket. I only use ours on mains hookup so I've disconnected the gas pipe but if you intend using the gas then get a gas engineer to check it over. The flue on ours was a cardboard tube that just turned to dust! If the fridge doesn't get cold at all it needs taking out and turning upside down for 2 or 3 days to dissipate crystals that form in the pipes. I did this earlier this year and now it's working so well I have to take things out in advance of cooking to let them defrost:thumbsup:

  4. On the Helsinki you loosen the 2 nuts behind the seat and tilt the fridge back, remove water tank and you can get to all the fridge workings.

  5. Wish it was that easy on a Berlin!

  6. Helsinkis are different to Berlins.

  7. Whats wrong with your fridge?

  8. I have the elusive berlin-ski. discounted a helsinki when i was looking 'cos i didnt like the tall unit behind the driver or the unit in the doorway, bought a berlin. then realised i really wanted a full-width bed.. so took the fridge out and made myself a full sizer - best of both worlds? :)

  9. I have a Berlin Deluxe which has the electric pumped sink, water tanks, two ring hob and electric fridge all built in down one side, Non deluxe has no cooker and just the cool box. But they are all nice whatever you have

  10. I had a good look round and eventually went for the Westfalia Nempnett-Thrubwell. Great van!

  11. I got the same :)

  12. I will probably do this eventually! Too big for a 3/4 bed!

    Where is your fridge now?

Similarly the Westfalia Wetwang ticks all the boxes for many people :)

  14. The Westfalia W ank wasn't much of a commercial success, for some reason.

(Yes, it is a real town)

  16. Bit far to go for a beer though (unless you're in Belgium...)

  18. My Berlin has the sunroof too. And the "double glazing" which is just awful. Collects condensation and gets down into the panels...

  19. Very strange about the condensation? Mine is totally dry and they work well!

  20. Apparently mine is not a Helsinki after all but an Oxford. Apparently it is quite a rarity.
