Out of interest, who likes basic camping, cheap field with nothing else. Who likes full monty. Pool, shop, entertainment. In between, field but a bog and shower ? Ta
Even the full monty was good a couple of times when the kids were little and I watched England thrash Germany (that one time) in a full monty campsite bar - brilliant fun. Horses for courses.
I love basic campsites. I find the big sites worse than stopping over in a carpark. At least I know I'm in a carpark and can expect noise and feeling like I'm hemmed in for a fiver I stead of of quid.
I like basic but with half decent shower block. I like to talk to new people but find caravaners and big motorhome people tend to go in early to watch Britains got ne talent
We’re currently on a small basic site with a basic concrete block toilet and it’s lovely and the sort of site we normally would use. The big sites with hard standing etc are useful especially at the start or end of the season when the weather can be bad and they are quieter. If touring for a couple of weeks we tend to have at least a night on a nice site too top battery up and have a decent shower. We do have a loo and tent we sometimes use for the odd real basic sites.
A toilet at least. Not an airport...https://mendipviewcamping.com/.. we were there a few years back..before glamping. Portakabin bog, uncut grass, planes overhead...
Its my preferred choice of camping but the wife always want to bring at least one more facility than is available at The Ritz
Basic sites every time , just need a bog ! I actively try to find sites without hook up as it keeps the riff-raff - sorry , caravans away . There's quite a few fields I used to stay at up in t'dales but struggling to find a happy medium darn sarf... Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
There’s a cracking basic campsite near Bakewell, Lathkill Wild Campsite. No frills, has toilets, has fire pits, superb views and countryside.
On my trip I've been fortunate to stay on friends driveways but for the next bit I have been looking at some of the spots on the Park4Night app. Don't think I've got the nerve for stealth camping to be honest. And an orange and white vw isn't the most stealthy!
Basic as possible but with a shower and toilet for a quiet life with wife and child So wild camping with Glamping facilities!!!
