i have this for sale 1974 97% rust free chassis outriggers inner sills outer sill floors like new , ds front floor needs about 4 inch sq welded , 2 steps need small repairs 1800cc engine , has access panel in the back , side air scoops fitted , yellow and white , sides of the van are like a billards table , all import paper and duty stuff done , needs repair to the bottom of the deformation panel , and bottom of the ds door , £6750

the bit of damage on the back was done in the container , the man brought it and 3 mk 2 escorts over from auss ,

yes an austrialian import in this condition , it should have flew , i think because am in n ireland this put people of , but yet they will buy a bus in american with out seeing it , its cheaper to fly to derry belfast , than it is to get a train from london to birmingham, liverpool, manchester , i can get it delivered to gb for £150 to £200 ,

i no but will spend a fortune on roten imported vans from america , and then thers them that pm ye to say that my insurance company class an aussy import ass as some thing from mars , doh , same spec as an gb van RHD doh , owen nw

 

Shielsy if you can get my insurance company to insure my son on it I'd buy it. Its Volkzone's own insurance people - Groupama or something - they are the only company that will insure my son because he is only 21 and only just passed his test. They say it MUST be RHD and UK spec - NO IMPORTS - even if they are RHD - I don't understand it either! What the hell is the difference - if anything the imported RHD van will be in far better condition due to the climate its been in! CRAZY!!!! But scuppers my plans - i'll probably just find something as a temporary stopgap until i can insure him on a proper van.

this may be just what I'm looking for, how much generally will it cost me to get interior sorted. Is this a big project or something I can turn around pretty quick and get road worthy to be travelling this summer with the family.
