What's this and what's the clever/simple way to remove this without leaving bits of metal rattling around inside? Thanks in advance
I’m guessing here. Has someone fitted a warning light to tell you the handbrake is on? No idea about Q2 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
When the brake pedal is pressed? If so then its wired wrong or its doing its job and indicating a failure in one of the brake circuits/switches
Hahahaha! Noooo! I'm old and wise now ... literally asking for someone who has bought it and is just getting to grips with the details.
I have a feeling there was a thread on here a year or two ago, for a group buy of replacement red lenses for some sort of brake related light on the dash. Presuming I am remembering correctly, a few folk here should also have that light and know what it does. I’m going ‘ejector seat’ but I’m probably wrong. As for removing the front wheel holder thingy, surely just take it off and weld up the holes if they no longer want the wheel there? Means a bit of a paint session, but I can’t think you can do much else apart from leave the spare where it is.
That may be a bulb test for the brake warning light, just check it's working. If it lights up when you're braking, means one of the brake circuits has gone. You need to find an owner's manual on the web, which will tell you all these things Wheel holder: depends how they've attached it to the panel. If they've used rivnuts, nothing will drop off behind the panel...but you'll have four ugly rivnuts staring at you once it's off.
I think with the wheel carrier it's a case of avoiding having metal nuts rattling around inside for ever more ...
If it’s like mine, the nuts and bolts just stick through from outside to inside, so all they would have to do is pick the nuts up from behind the kick panel, or even just from the cab floor. There’s no secret hiding place unless I’ve not looked hard enough and have been driving around with an extra dimension that I was unaware of.... how exciting!
