    The 2nd one is extremely well done. I can’t quite capture it in a photo. The sealant is crazing and the board and frame have seen better days, but it is a very well done painting. I’m guessing it’s Tuscany. Sadly, you will have to take my word for it.

    A cotton bud with a bit of spit lightly rub the area you want to see it’s is the recognised method , varnish removal should be done either by professional or using step by step method , my grandad and my uncle could both restore paintings and my grandad used to hand paint / colour black and white photos too .
