  5. You won't get me searching the big blue book unless a) I have a job to do at home or b) someone is paying me to install something
Edit: It's probably in the Installation guide. I'm not getting that out either :p

  10. Perhaps they have a fatalistic approach to electricity - if you are stupid enough to touch the connector block whilst in the shower............

Looks fine to me, no exposed switch, RCD, double insulated hair drier. :)

  12. It’s a little like chucking a toaster in the bath but scaled down a little!

What would happen - the RCD would trip. ?
This scenario and worse must be repeated in every salon in the country!

  14. Wouldn’t that make the bread soggy? Also who has a toaster in a bathroom or come to think of it a bath in the kitchen?
I know open plan living is very much the thing but I think you need to draw the line somewhere

  15. Tbh I couldn’t think what it would come under for a while. There isn’t a section on stupidity and the expectation is that the designers knickers don’t drag on the floor. The project officer queried it and was told it complied! I’ve yet to ascertain who she asked as the consultant appears to be a chartered engineer!!! I’m looking forwards to that conversation!

  17. Wouldn’t it come under not complying with your bathroom “zones”?

To be fair, if that was me I'd have arranged outlet position and cable length so that it couldn't quite reach the sink. I'm cautious like that because I don't understand mains electricity.
