I use my lhd bus daily all through the summer and autumn. I actually hate driving rhd on an enduring basis now. Doesnt feel as intuitive at all.
panache, style and savoir faire in a fishtrousers shape. I boast to my friends that I'm allowed to read your posts
Oh Im sorry I hadnt realised you were my brain and thoughts as well as my voice?! Its my opinion and preference. End of.
The weirdest thing about first getting into a LHD, is remembering that the clutch is still on the left! The brain is still in learning mode.
I used my LHD for a good year or more as a daily driver - no problems whatsoever. You get used to it very quickly, the only extra thing to be careful of is pulling onto dual carriageway or motorways as you need to look right back over your shoulder to check blind spots - no idea how you would do it in a panel van!!!
I like the fact that the gear stick is on my right. Being right handed it just feels, well, right. Having driven in France and Italy a lot it feels like home to me to drive lhd. My old mini is the same. Indicators on the right. Again, it seems more intuitive this way as you can cancel with a sweep of the steering wheel and the other hand is still free to change gear. Some japanese cars were the same. I drive a new RHD car every week. I get into it and within minutes I'm thinking, this just extracts the urine.
