I have done it I will be doing more when I retire work gets in the way. The pay can be good but it’s long hours so more of a hobby for me and I have met some interesting people along the way It’s exactly like the sitcom extras

keep an eye on twitter for production companies wanting extras, they host local open auditions so no need for an agency. there's always extras wanted round here as there's a lot of places they use for locations. done it and know lots who do but not as a regular income.
do it! i'm already working on the social club letting bays stay in the carpark for free.... as long as there's a 'meet' during the day and folk can look around at our wonderful vehicles... anything filmed in keighley, saltaire, leeds and i can sort out staying
