  1. Being made redundant end of september and really don't want another full on factory/workshop tech type of job. Always hankered about doing this or similar role so has anyone on here done it or is doing it now? maybe some of the pitfalls could be disclosed as i've heard good and bad.

  2. @Barry Haynes had a small part in a number of 1970s “films”.

Just be careful of the dodgy agencies with the promise of work if you pay them.

One of my cousins daughter's has been on Emmerdale and a few of the kids programmes but she's abroad at the minute so can't ask her how she went about it.

I nearly did for the Star Wars prequel as they wanted folk with dreads. Then I couldn’t get down for costume fitting then they decided they didn’t want me! :(

If only they’d do a film about Greenham Common I’m sure they’d pick me :)

I was on the One Show at the Edinburgh Fringe a couple of years back. You could clearly see the tree I was stood behind.

  17. Our next door neighbour became an extra a few years ago.
I know that he had to get an equity card and because there was already a 'Tony Jackson' he became 'Byron T Jackson'.
An odd looking bloke in a long coat with wooly hair and a hat soon became a regular visitor to the back ground of Casualty & the Bill etc.
Then he & his wife, Val moved down to Cornwall to make things out of crap they found on the beach.
