Anyone now what this does ? spare wheel strap?

  1. gbcamper wins the prize, I'll stick it in the post.

  2. Can anyone post a pic (or point me in the right direction) showing how the strap thing attaches to the van? I've searched and googled and looked in all the manuals but i can't find any info.

Mine's a westy so the spare would have originally been in a cupboard - i've moved it back to the rear in the original well area - i have a cover and a strap but i can't see how the strap attaches to the vehicle?

    Any help appreciated.

  3. their should or might be a couple of metal brackets on the inside of your bus where the wheel well is ie on the centre line under the window but if its a westie and it was ment to go in the cupboard they might not have fitted them ??

  5. thanks @snotty

yep, mine has no brackets so the plan is to locate/fabricate some to match the originals.

ok - if those are home made jobbies can anyone show me what the originals would have looked like?

  6. Exactly the same! But spot-welded on.

PS You'll also need the rubber bumpers.
