Anyone now what this does ? spare wheel strap?

the part no is 211 813 655 its on my spare wheel strap but i cant see what use it has or what its supposed to do ?? pics ive tried it always but ??? spect im being fik?

 

The nylon bit is to hold the strap away from the spare wheel rim, as I recall. Don't chuck it out! I'll try & get a pic.

 

Mine acts as a spacer. Against spare

 

Where can I get one of these? I am moving my spare inside and was wondering how on earth I would secure it!

 

Ooh - I could do with one of these as well (not just the spacer - the whole strap thingie!).

cheers @snotty n others ,ive just got in from tasksand whilst doing them i had a brain wave it went on the inner hole of wheel to stop rubbing , oh well it may have helped increase sales somewhere , thanks alot i played with it for half n hour n nothing it wasnt till i put my spare back i had brain grain surface , i cant believe its all original and it still works .

Ive got one of these I dont use but as its a westy one and rare then I will have to sell it on ebay!

 

It had me guessing. I think the VW microfiche pic showed where it went.

 

Got one myself somewhere, I never sussed it out either. Its a bit grubby but first to put their hand up can have it.When I find it.

 

I bought one on ebay for 49p.
