    I could so I did.
    I sold the T1 to a mate though which I wouldn't have done if it wasn't a good'un.
    Happy days

The ONLY vans which have the wiper arc correct for a RHD van are Australian vans, every other van has the wipers set up for LHD.
As for which is better for driving in the UK the LHD crowd can justify it as much as they want but eventually they have to face the fact that in Europe and America they drive on the right and all their vehicles are left hand drive. in the UK and Australia they drive on the left and all their vehicles are right hand drive.
QED right hand drive is better in the UK.

From your description it sounds like the bottom end has already gone so you certainly do not want to be just repairing any top end damage. If money is tight DIY.

If its ran hot, I'd do a proper strip down to be certain all is well. Im having a shot at building a 1800 AP motor, when we split the case on that it had been running hot and everything is covered in burnt oil & needs a good clean (probably thrice over). Better off doing that than having to do it twice

  6. That's what I was thinking too... sounds like it has spun a rod end bearing!!

  7. Running a bus aint cheap in anyway anymore thats for sure
Id imagine stock piling parts now will pay dividends further down the line if you are going to keep your bus far into the future

  8. Gear shift position, throttle pedal reaction and simplicity is what I refer to. As a like for like comparison it feels more comfortable. That's all I mean. No disrespect to LHD or RHD owners. I'll have to cut off both my arms and disrespect myself though as I own 2 RHD and 2 LHD buses.

Not to do with whether its in the UK or not either but it is a pain in the arse when wishing to overtake (god forbid I would ever want to do this as opposed to spending my time looking at the trees ) or at certain types of road junction.

I only participate in engine threads BTW, no more or less than others, naturally using and building type 4 engines my views will sway more towards those.

I have nothing against the puny lawnmower engines and am totally unbiased.

I will however curb my participation on this forum from here on in so that others have the opportunity to receive only a well informed and unbiased view and not my self opinionated twaddle

  9. Whip it out and see what's gone on. I have a spare 2l crank and rods you can have if that's the problem. You'd just need new bearings then assuming all else is ok so will only cost you £120 to get going again. You need to confirm it is indeed a 2 litre though.
    :)

  10. Joker - You are a bloody Star - Thank you very much - Words can't express how we both reacted to that post!

We will strip it down asap and get back to you! That's just given us a real boost!

Everyone has a view or opinion and it won't always agree with someone else's, the world would be a really boring place if we all thought the same!

This place seems to thrive on bickering at the moment! Hence why we have kept our distance from it for a while now, seems people are constantly putting people down, but it is also a damn good place with a lot of knowledge, and offers like yours above, as well as the advice given by you and several others between the bickering on this thread show how good it can be. Thank you.

  11. In the words of the great sage "opinions are like arseholes - everyone has one". Well that lit the blue touchpaper last time @Baysearcher eh! ;)

I would have done mate but It just sort of turned into a complete rebuild after Zeds local company checked it over. You were an invaluable help with the odd problem after the rebuild if you remember. I would recommend you to anyone else who needed engine work done though.

They're not my local company! You asked if I knew somewhere to check/work on the heads, I didn't know you'd be sucked into a complete rebuild. :D

Yes. worked Friday, all weekend, yesterday and going back in a minute. I'll do a 6 hour day today and maybe, just maybe have tomorrow off but probably do at least a half day. I've got a lot to get through in the next 3 months in time to sell the house, move etc. The wheels are turning at last.
