the liquid being poured onto something which caused smoke could be anything from the person making a cup of tea (?) to something very suspicious...wonder whats going on
Tea was my thought .... But it could be linked to the terror arrests earlier ... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-18720213
Probably avin a sneaky fag in a plastic bag so the driver won't smell it, then thought a miniature bottle of whisky would be good with said fag. Definitely worth getting the bomb squad and other services in as somebody seen in public smoking and drinking is clearly a criminal
Marcs idea was that someone was pouring soup into a cup.... And it seems he may be right cos they've just said on Sky News that Staffs police are not classing this as a terror thingy.
all right calm down, i came to work in the van today and stopped for a oxtail cup a soup, get over it.
I know you *have* to phone the police if you really do think someone is acting suspiciously but...can you imagine being the person who makes the call, gets half of the UK's police force (and their dogs) out....and it transpires that someone was just having a snack :laugh2:
A rep was showing me a flame less cooking system yesterday that was just a box. You used a disposable heat pack pour on water and then place a tray on top with food in Then. L Close the lid and it heats up Just looked like a lock n lock box Al
Mystery solved - it was an electronic cigarette. Either it got activated by accident in the bag or the user was blowing the vapour in the bag through fear of being told not to use it. I'm quite open about how I use mine, so people can ask if they want so hopefully I wont be tagged as a terrorist.
Apparently other drivers held up at the scene were told to close all their windows and to not use the AC - I bet that made them rather nervous
Ok its a mess up. But if it had been a plot we'd be all over them saying how fast and great they were. Sometimes we have to accept mistakes. As amusing as this is now, potentially it could have been disastrous. No doubt the Daily Mail and its readers will slag everyone off for overreacting. When the possibility of bombs are concerned , there is no such thing as an over reaction. This is just a sign of the times we live in. Well done the police. They did their job. Consider this as practice for the main event. Which WILL happen at some point.
