  5. I like to imagine whoever it was who invented Bovril walking through a field one day, seeing a cow and thinking "I bet that would make a lovely drink"

  6. Not a fan of marmite, but a light coating for the last 10 minutes when roasting potatoes works great.

  9. Wow! Some interesting replies here, lol.

Have had it suggested before to use on roasting potatoes - may have to try that, last night I stirred a tbsp of it into some plain pasta, was pleasantly surprised!

However never heard it being suggested for gaskets before :p

  10. Thoughts on twiglets? Personally I think they're revolting but that's because I don't think they taste like the real deal.

  11. twiglets? Nooo! marmite spattered cardboard if you ask me, stick to adding it gravy and cheese baked goodness. Im not a fan of the marmite crisps either - they are jsut wrong and dont even taste right. Marmite on crumptes with melted cheese is good too!

  12. I always put a big dollop into a chilli.

  13. the british army marches on marmite spuds. although most of my civvie mates have never tried them.

  16. Now that's JUST WRONG

  18. MmmmmmmmmmMarmite! :food:

Top-notch on toast, sublime in a sandwich, excellent with eggs, choice with cheese, peps up potatoes, groovy in gravy, e buono in bolognese.... and recently someone introduced me to the joys of marmite pasta - just cook up the pasta, and mix in a dollop of butter and some marmite to taste. It's Pasterrific!

Oh, I almost forgot, it's also luscious in a lettuce sandwich. God only knows why, but it rocks!

  19. Twiglets are lovely. Only ever used to see them at xmas but now...

  20. Twiglets - It is a legal requirement that once a packet/ tub is opened its has to be consumed in its entirety without stopping!
