'Ang on lads - i've got an idea.....

Here's a plan, what we do is talk about our vans, make new and existing people feel welcome, keep our gripes to ourselves or via pm to admin and generally get on with running a bloody good forum.
I don't wanna go over old ground and you all know there's a bit of a bad vibe around this last few days, now, today i've had a lot of pm/texts and even phone calls asking ME what's going on, i take it as a compliment that people think i know the ins and outs of this place, i guess because i'm able to be online a lot i'm considered a "stalwart" but i'm gonna be honest, i'd noticed a few regulars hadn't been on but i thought nothing of it, it's just a forum, a place to use for what you want, be it advice or relief from the grind of your life etc, now it's blatantly obvious that some people have got "beef" with some other people or even the forum itself, the thing is some of the people are people i considered "friends" although after some remarks i guess they don't feel the same, anyway what i'm trying to say is this, if the row (whatever it is) concerns you, then keep it to yourself or talk to the admin and moderators, those of us who don't know or don't care let's just ignore it, after all the best way for something to die is to not give it an audience or feed it, if the people who are upset and we are real mates we'll welcome them back and give them a beer and tell them to forget it, if they can't forget it or don't want to come back then that's their choice, so people of the late bay who's with me? let's talk vans, let's say hello to newbies, let's make everyone welcome - even if they are shy or think they haven't got much to say then let's help them find a voice without fear of ridecule, i really love it here and the laughs are great but the lows aren't and we don't need lows on a place we choose to come on do we? let's all make this site as good as it ever was with new and existing members who want to play nice, who want to mess about a bit, who want to ask about vans, and ask the silliest things or even (amazingly) those sensible ones.

I've met alot of the members on here and havent a bad word to say about any of them 8)
It seems to happen every now and then ,remember after the forum went down

 

Maybe people aren't getting enough and are a bit testy.

 

i agree, i've met lots of folk and i have no problems, i just fail to see if people do that why they air it on here, negativity breeds negativity, let's overide it with positive posts.

i know you're taking the rise and that's ok i like a laugh, but seriously it isn't about me, i'm concious some people think i'm a bit of a tit, that's fine but the forum is important to me and a lot of my mates, can we just keep this thread positive so that newbies and existing peeps see we aren't all arguing and in fighting? i know it's ironic for me to be serious but honestly when it gets a bit crappy on a forum i can easily bow out and if i can when i'm addicted it would be easy for a potential newbie or a less thick skinned member to go as they thought we weren't a friendly bunch.

As a really new newbie I have to say this is one of the best forums I have ever visited. Great advice. Lost of sections. Fantastic pictures of other people's vans - you could just spend soooo much money with that inspiration! Comments and threads that raise a smile...I very much feel at home here

 

ive used loadsa forums , and thb its the way they work ..
up and down/people leaving/gettin bored/petty fights....

it will always be the same.. but many people get/give a lot of good advice and friendships from them ..

long may they continue..
but it may not be the case with the advent of farcebook :-[ and people bein to lazy to use forums..

so enjoy them while there stilll popular.. O0
