I only had 2 weeks furlough and I spent that driving around the country looking for a bus to buy, which we collected on my last furloughed day. Best two weeks off ever. However, my nephew had to do something to keep the kids entertained so he invented a card game. Apparently it’s quite good so he made a Kickstarter to get it professionally produced: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/isthatbananaloaded/is-that-banana-loaded-tm I’m not a card game type of guy but I have grandkids now so it’s either learn to enjoy it or sit there bored watching them play computer games.
@Kkkaty its coming along nicely thanks for asking. done a lot to this house i'm hoping finished end of September/ October
Mine's a bit niche ... and yet to be finished ... but being "locked in" with a shielder meant the ten-years-to-date selfbuild and refurb took a big jump forward ... As you know we have a faaaaabulous garden daaaarhling, but the building was pretty shoddy, so in response to work being seriously cut back thanks to a "chronic fatigue syndrome" I started a single handed eco build extension in about 2010 A week BEFORE lockdown I finished this bit: https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/42469720?preview_for_ml=true&source_impression_id=p3_1596026599_dyKO1a+sNydEP7op&guests=1&adults=1&check_in=2020-09-15&check_out=2020-09-20 and promptly installed the 92 years young pater in there for 14 weeks (he lives in London) The original brick, placcy windows and pebble dash north-facing frontage was crying out for external insulation and some render to match the new bit ..... Deadline for the WHOLE job was mi 60th last week, so given the remaining roof changes I'm WAY off that mark, but lockdown meant getting this bit done at least ........ First a fake door Bit too big so time to change the roof line Add a touch of "agri" Spot of tiling Plates for the insulation Bit of insulation "One two, miss a few, ninety nine, a hundred"
The Northumberland one, though expecting that to be done and dusted in a few weeks wd be a tall order, I realise!
Didn't get furloughed and worked all the way through - but at least not being able to be sociable on the weekends meant those two days every week produced a fruit cage, some decking, a re-laid patio quite a lot of vegetables, and a nice tidy garden! I might just stay unsociable, it's quite productive......
The garden and decking looked very impressive on my brief stopover for a cuppa and a shopping trip to the wonderous delights of Fordingbridge Co-op, on my way to the Portsmouth ferry.
A bushel. Apologies, but I have done very little this last few weeks bar sharpen my already incisive wit.
Definitely getting there, thanks ..........although it is protesting at having to go back to work this week! I could so do retirement.......
@Kkkaty If You want something with a good story i have lots Pm Me what your after i'm sure i will have something. Best regards Geord.
I’ve taken to growing large vegetables . Bought a load of seeds at the start of lockdown and it’s not gone badly.
