I had an idea that I might suggest to any newspaper that might pay me to produce it. A gal has to eat y’know. It’s to feature a few heroes/annoying b’stards (tick whichever applies) who actually produced something of note while furloughed instead of just talking about it like the rest of us. I’m thinking maybe someone who restored a classic vehicle, built a gorgeous summerhouse, wrote a book, got a qualification, reroofed the house ... something that’d look ‘blimey!’ when photographed preferably. For instance I have a friend who’s just finished a giant outdoor aquarium, complete with overhanging palms and ferns etc. Looks like a tropical jungle now - awesome. So if any of you have any great projects you’re just completing, and fancy them being featured in a newspaper - IF I can place the idea somewhere - do let me know: don’t hide your whatsit under a thingy.
Ive heard Bazza has gone into the film business, some cutting edge footage taken. He may write a book, if you talk to him nicely
I welded up all the bottom of my van and replaced all the braking components. Go on Instagram and see #rougholdjob. Does that count?
I managed to furlough myself from my one man band business and cracked on with my bus project. I've virtually had four months uninterrupted and got it on the road. It's not finished as I haven't started the interior but it would have taken another couple of years to get him on the road without furlough.
I did loads and was fortunate enough to be working. I made use of the extra time I wasn't commuting, but much of it was very mundane, like repairing CV joints, fitting an oil thermostat, replacing the needle valves on the carbs, fitting a fuel cut off solenoid, painting my gates and fences etc. I enjoyed doing it, but I am not sure anyone would enjoy reading about it.
Ha ha. Nowt. It all goes to me, me, me! TBH I’d prob only make about £200-400 in total if I’m lucky, in case anyone thinks freelance writing is easy and lucrative these days. But you get fame/infamy and poss some professional pictures taken. How is that fab house resto coming along?
