    Buy an engine for £2500 plus with all new parts and avoid the lottery of someone elses recycled disaster. All the engines rebuilt for £1000 may or may not include a set of scrapings off the floor by some scally ..that looked enough like a complete engine for part-exchange.. i have a cracked engine block for instance...

    The other way is to watch videos read books and ask questions then build your own. Then you can be 100% sure you know what parts came from where..

    Buying an old Scooby engine that cant necessarily be properly serviced or get the right parts fir in the future if you lose the numbers off the donor car ... thats a lottery but sadly one more appropriate to T4 owners.
    T1 owners at least can buy all the parts of a new engine because they are all still being manufactured by somebody.

  5. Right dial indicator arrived today and got a figure.
    0.17mm so above suggested by 0.04mm if I have my maths right.

    What do people think.
