  2. I was born in Cowes on the IOW and from when I was 8 or 9 my mates and I would play in the disused railway stations and tunnels from Cowes Terminus to Mill Hill. Everything was still there, from all the station signs and buildings to the signal boxes and tracks; all gone now obviously.
Stuff like that still fascinates me now, for some reason the Tube system in general but in particular disused and abandoned stations.

  4. This place has been fenced in now so I am glad I managed to get a picture before it happened

  7. Brilliant thread!
I remember as a kid playing in an old abandoned bottling plant in Uxbridge. We use to ride down the old crate rollers on pallets, lucky we didn't hurt ourselves too badly? There was some odd stuff in there. An abandoned Bristol car, a dead tied up blackbird, weird stuff.
Saw a great programme fairly recently about these guys who went around exploring WWII secret sites. They broke into the old U Boat pens at la rochelle and got some great footage.
I like being in places your not supposed to be in but there's no reason for you not to be...
    Interesting links, thanks

  8. some very interesting sites but sad in a way especially seeing the old industrial and manafacturing buildings knowing it was part of what made great britain great and now it's gone for ever :'( leaving great old buildings of the quality of some of them empty is a travisty especially when there are so many people struggling to get social housing or homeless people trying to get of the streets.
