Glad u guys are ok - & thank u for posting as i think it will make all of us think about were our Fire/Ex are.
Just seen this post, glad you're ok and the bus is not too bad, jeez that would have been the ultimate in irony with Jen organising the firetec buy, hopefully we will be doing another group buy, even if someone else sorts it, for now i've got one behind my seat and one in the back, i like the oven glove idea though, good thinking, but you must remember to unlock the hatch before driving off folks, i'm lucky i've got a battery isolator on so i have to open it to re-connect before going off out. not ideal but it's big enough to hopefully save the van.
Going to get an extra extinguisher today - reckon behind the passenger seat is best for one -along with an oven glove now. Supposed to be working but can fit that in I'm sure
Glad you two are OK, sounds like things could have been so much worse - it could have happened in April and not October!!! Hope you get sorted soon!!!
Thanks guys - we are counting our lucky stars (at least until we find out how much this will cost us to put right). It will be a blessing in disguise as we will finally have a properly sorted engine!
Well done for catching it in time Rich and Jen, as soon as firetech is delivered it'll be installed in my van straight away, like most an oven glove will be on my shopping list, just hope the lidls extinguisher will suffice until then.
Glad your ok Note to self get a new extigisher for Tony and put one back in barry Used the last one on diago and barrys is next to diago while I was welding badly
really sorry to hear that guys, Glad you got the fire out. Let me know if theres anything you need - help with getting her back on the road etc.
- our should be delivered this week - in a way I'm glad we didn't have it as I've no idea how much they cost to refill...
Here's my Rickyroo moment for those who are interested! T2 campervan engine after a small fire in the left carb
"This pussy thing that Birdy has in his bus" That did make me laugh. It's called a coil That looks like it spread pretty quick. You 2 are very lucky. If it's still in the yard I'll take a look at it on Wednesday.
We are currently on the downward leg of our Scotland trip and just seen your post ,very very shocking however pleased you are both ok. Bonus about the van also. Fast work and the oven glove addittion is a blinding move, cheers glove hunting im a going.
